What is a Journal Bible Study?
Journal Bible Studies provide plenty of space for you to note your thoughts, ideas, questions, etc., as you read the books in the Bible. For each reading, there is a lined area for you to make your own notes. Some of our Journal Bible Study books include the Bible’s chapters in their entirety.
Our Journal Bible Studies that are based on a single book of the Bible include all of the Bible Text. That way, you ONLY need ONE book–the Journal Bible Study itself–to do your Bible study. You don’t have to go back and forth between a workbook and the Bible. You don’t have to carry around two books. The format makes it EASY for you to study the Bible. It makes study much more straightforward, especially when you are a new believer who is new to Bible studies!
Some of our Journal Bible Studies (Be A Person After God’s Own Heart) include an undated reading schedule, but don’t include the actual Bible text for reading. That is because it isn’t possible to include all of the Bible text in longer, deeper studies which cover multiple books in the Bible. The reading schedule is open, because it is not dated. That way, if you miss a day or two, you’re still on track!
How Our Studies are Different:
Our Journal Bible Studies don’t contain fluff or frivolous, pointless questions. You won’t find questions asking you specifics about what you just read, who said what, or when they did something. We don’t ask questions that don’t have any application to or implication for YOU in your personal life.
The questions are either knowledge, reflection, or life application questions. There is a variety of question types to help you dig deeper into God’s Word and to receive personal revelation regarding how the scriptures apply to your life.
The Journal Bible studies have space for writing your thoughts as you read, and for you to journal your answers to the questions. These aren’t fill-in-the-blank workbooks or light-weight studies. They’re designed to help you think about what the scriptures mean to you in your present life.
